CDPD Weekend

Coach Developer Professional Development Weekend (CDPD)

Each year in October, CAO recognizes and says thanks at CDPD Weekend to all of our Coach Developers for all of the commitment, hard work and passion they show towards coach development.

The weekend provides an opportunity for multisport and sport-specific Learning Facilitators, Coach Evaluators and Master Coach Developers to come together for 2 days of professional development, networking and much more!

CDPD 2021 was largely online but attendees participated in social Reconnection Sessions between PD sessions.

CDPD 2021

CDPD 2021 was once again held virtually, with approximately 100 coach developers and coach evaluators in attendance over Zoom. Going digital was new for this event, but being on Zoom did not dampen the collaborative and social spirit of CDPD.

This year the theme was Reconnection, and Judy Riege kicked off the event with an engaging keynote about re-energizing our virtual and in-person learning environments and how CDs play a key role in reconnecting communities through sport. Other highlights of the month included sessions exploring Peer Mentoring, Communities of Practice, and Inclusive Language for Coach Developers.

We also celebrated Ann Barteaux, who was recognized by the Coaching Association of Canada as one of the country’s most outstanding NCCP Coach Developers. With over 34 years of experience, Ann has impacted coaches at the most recreational grassroots all the way to high performance and is a true mentor and leader in sport development. Her devotion to educating National Coaching Certification Program coaches is truly best in class. Congratulations Ann and thanks for everything you do to make sport a better place in Ontario!

Delegates received SWAG from locally-sourced small businesses as our thanks for being a part of the event.
Multi-Sport Coach Developers kicked off the month with an in-person social at Badland Brewing Company near Caledon.
