RICHMOND HILL: NCWO Community Clinic


In celebration of National Coaches Week in Ontario this year, the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) has partnered with host communities from across the province to deliver NCCP Community Clinics, which aim to recruit, develop, educate and celebrate community volunteer coaches!
These workshops are being provided to coaches at significantly discounted rates thanks to the partnership with the City of Richmond Hill and Ontario Provincial Sport Organizations

NCCP Make Ethical Decisions – 6:00pm – 10:00pm – ONLY $10

By successfully completing the 3.5-hour Make Ethical Decisions workshop you will be fully equipped to handle virtually any ethical situation with confidence and surety. MED is one of the NCCP’s cornerstone workshops, and leaves coaches with no doubt as to what to do when the going gets tough. Upon completing the MED module you’ll be able to: analyze a challenging situation and determine if it has moral, legal or ethical implications; and apply the NCCP Ethical Decision-Making Model to properly respond to each situation in a way that is consistent with the NCCP Code of Ethics.

NCCP Badminton Shuttle Time – 9:00am – 5:00pm – ONLY $20

The objective of this workshop is to educate teachers in the delivery of badminton lessons in a school setting. The workshop is best suited for coaches, teachers, school staff, and volunteers who may have limited basic badminton experience. They will be working with children and youth in an educational setting with a range of badminton skills. Candidates learn about the sport of badminton, they learn to plan badminton lessons, to delivery safe and fun lessons, and provide a positive badminton experience.


NCCP Planning a Practice – 9:00am – 2:30pm – ONLY $15
(*Cannot be combined with Badminton Shuttle Time*)

The NCCP Planning a Practice learning activities will prepare coaches to explain the importance of logistics in the development of a practice plan, establish an appropriate structure for a practice and identify appropriate activities for each part of the practice. To receive the full credit for the NCCP Planning a Practice module, coaches must complete a FREE Emergency Action Plan eLearning activity in the locker, which will gives coaches a detailed EAP that includes all required information for responding to an emergency.


Basic Mental Skills Workshop – 3:30pm – 7:30pm – ONLY  $10
(*Cannot be combined with Badminton Shuttle Time*)

The Basic Mental Skills module gives you the ability to: Recognize signs indicating that an athlete may need to improve his/her goal setting, focus, and anxiety control skills; and develop tools to help the athlete to make improvements in these areas; Run simple guided activities that help athletes improve basic mental skills.

NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills – 9:00am – 2:00pm – ONLY $15

Through this interactive workshop, participants gain the ability to: Detect and correct basic errors for fundamental movement skills in participants so they have a choice to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle; Apply a teaching process to promote the development of fundamental movement skills; Adapt fundamental movement skills for participants with intellectual, physical, sensory, or behavioural disabilities; Lead activities that will promote the development of fundamental movement skills in a safe, responsible manner while interacting with others; and Provide stage-appropriate feedback to encourage and develop fundamental movement skills in participants.
