Thank you to everyone who joined with us in celebration of National Coaches Week in Ontario this year!

Ontario Coaching Excellence Awards

We kick-started the week by recognising ten outstanding coaches at the Ontario Coaching Excellence Awards. The winners were honoured at a ceremony on Saturday, September 23, at the Innis Town Hall in Toronto. Check out their fanatic videos by clicking on their names below:

NCCP Community Clinics

Over 400 coaches from across the province received  SUPER Discounted National Coaching Certification Program training during the week. Coaches enjoyed the  multi-sport modules of.  Make Ethical Decisions, Fundamental Movement Skills, Planning a Practice and. Nutrition.  Coaches also had access to the Community or Entry level sport-specific training in Ice Hockey (Goaltending Instruction), Athletics, Table Tennis, Swimming, Weightlifting, Basketball, Rugby, Boccia, and Gymnastics (Artistic and Active Start). This was made possible with the help of our amazing Host Partners in the communities, the Provincial Sport Organizations, the Coaching Association of Canada and Investors Group. Remote Access – Make Ethical Decisions (48 Coaches Trained)

For those individuals in our more remote communities or simply unable to attend a traditional in-class workshop, our Remote Make Ethical Decisions workshop was available to coaches each week night. To learn more about Remote Access  CLICK HERE

The Coaches Helping Coaches Program Cycle of 2016-2017

The program to recruit Ontario’s Coaching Future. The Coaches Helping Coaches Program embodies the CAO’s “Coaches Helping Coaches” philosophy by offering encouragement, support and recognition to coaches in the community that actively mentor and develop the newer coaches. From Curling in Vankleek Hill to Weightlifting in Hamilton there are new coaches getting involved in sport all across the province.  Check out the stories about of 7 New Coaches and their Mentors

We heard the country loud and clear this week in support of coaches on Social Media!
