Each year in October, CAO recognizes and says thanks at CDPD Weekend to all of our Coach Developers for all of the commitment, hard work and passion they show towards coach development.
The weekend provides an opportunity for multisport and sport-specific Learning Facilitators, Coach Evaluators and Master Coach Developers to come together for 2 days of professional development, networking and much more!
Stay tuned for new information about CDPD 2021 coming soon!
CDPD 2020 was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions, with approximately 100 coaches in attendance over Zoom. Going digital was new for this event, but being on Zoom did not dampen the collaborative and social spirit of CDPD.
Award winning performance coach Dr Ivan Joseph kicked off the event with a keynote session about Transforming Culture through Leadership and Facilitation. Another highlight of last year was a panel about Racism and Inclusion facilitated by Master Coach Developer Suzanne Chaulk and featuring the Black Canadian Coaches Association’s Lee Anna Osei. This panel session was part of the CAO’s commitment to anti-racism and education in sport.
We also celebrated Joe Benedetti, who was recognized by the Coaching Association of Canada as one of the country’s most outstanding NCCP Coach Developers. Joe has been working in the Hamilton area in coaching for over four decades and his devotion to educating National Coaching Certification Program coaches is truly best in class. Congratulations Joe and thanks for everything you do to make sport a better place in Ontario!
