A number of Ontario PSOs have been quite innovative with their “OTHER” funds. If you have a story of the benefits, expected and unanticipated from QfG funding, let us know. A few examples of how funds are used are below.

Curl Ontario provided Honorariums to 7 coaches who coach Wheelchair Curling Programs. In addition they ran an annual Coaches Seminar in April providing up to date information to over 100 coaches in attendance on physical and mental preparation, nutrition, and strategy at the Guelph Curling Club.

Skate Ontario hosted a innovative 2-day seminar for 42 figure skating coaches on teaching triple jumps led by an international expert from Colorado Springs. The seminar was held over two days in Waterloo, and coaches were also shown how to use Dartfish software for performance analysis.

Table Tennis used the funding for flights, accommodation and honorarium to send , a developing coach to work with the National Team Coach, attend a clinic and training camp in St. John’s Newfoundland. Table Tennis Canada provided matching funds to top up the investment.

Ontario Water Polo used the funds to send two of its Team Ontario Canada Games coaches to a seminar in California.
