National Coaches Week in Ontario

National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.

  1. Explore the Participation GuideThe National Coaches Week Participation Guide contains everything you need to make National Coaches Week a success for your coach, team, and organization.
  2. Enjoy FREE or discounted NCCP education: During National Coaches Week, coaches can diversify their coaching knowledge with free or discounted NCCP education. Courses to be released and made publicly available the first week of September.
  3. Say #ThanksCoach on social media: Follow National Coaches Week on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using #CoachesWeek and #ThanksCoach. You can also use the National Coaches Week Facebook profile frame throughout the week to show your support.
  4. Join a community event: Organize a community event to say #ThanksCoach, or join one taking place in your province or territory. Submit your event to our new National Coaches Week Event Calendar or use it to find an event near you!
  5. Say ‘Thanks, Coach’ with a National Coaches Week Gift: Show your appreciation for everything your coaches do for you, your team, and your community with a National Coaches Week-branded notebook or backpackNow available through our eStore.
  6. Interesting in taking up coaching?: Learn more about becoming a coach at our dedicate page. We take you through the steps to take on this amazing community role, a Coach!

Annually awarded to exemplary coaches across Ontario to celebrate coaches for the integral role they play with their team(s), sport and community, selected coaches are recognized during a special celebration on September 17, 2022 at the Rogers Centre!

Winning coaches will also be awarded a $500 prize reimbursement to be used on purchases for their team, club or organization, from local Ontario and Canadian businesses, proudly provided by Hydro One Inc.

The 2022 Stars of Coaching Are Announced!

CAO will be sponsoring a series of timely and low-cost workshops. Both the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions, Mentorship, and Fundamental Movement Skills workshops will be available for coaches from September 17-25. Each course is $10-15.
