  • March 22, 2025

HAMILTON – March 22, 2025 – Ontario’s coaching community eagerly gathers today in Hamilton as the highly anticipated Ontario Coaches Summit Series, presented by the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO), kicks off. This sold-out event promises a transformative experience for coaches and sport leaders from 27 sports that will inspire change and elevate leadership across Ontario’s sport community.

The Summit will feature an exciting lineup of experts, including:

  • J.P. Nerbun, Author, Coach, and Founder of TOC Culture Consulting, who will lead a session on transforming mindsets, parents and culture.
  • Eleanor Harvey, 3x Olympian and Paris 2024 Olympic Bronze Medalist in fencing, joining a special fireside chat with her long-time and Canadian Foils Coach, Alice Lu.
  • Larissa Mills, Mental Skills Coach and Founder of The Mental Game Academy, will explore the impact of social media on athlete behaviour and performance.

Attendees will gain hands-on learning through masterclass workshops, including a try-it fencing session led by Canadian Foils Coach Alice Lu, as well as practical strategies for driving culture change within teams and managing the impact of social media.

“As Ontario’s coaching community continues to evolve, OCSS stands at the forefront of the commitment to learning and growth by Ontario coaches,” says CAO’s Executive Director, Jeremy Cross. “We’re seeing coaches and sport leaders come together with a shared commitment to advancing development, driving innovation, and strengthening sport cultures across the province.”

Through the continued support of the Ministry of Sport coaches can access professional development opportunities like the Ontario Coaches Summit Series at discounted rates. Since 2007, CAO’s leadership events have been cornerstones on the provincial sport calendar, having attracted tens of thousands of coaches, committed to shaping the future of coaching and sport in Ontario.

“Ontario’s coaches not only help our athletes compete and succeed at all levels of sport, but they also play a pivotal role in developing essential life skills that will help these athletes excel beyond the sport world,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport. “Our government is proud to support this year’s Coaches Summit, and I want to thank the Coaches Association of Ontario for their unwavering commitment to excellence for all coaches across our province.”

Coaches unable to attend can still benefit from the summit’s insights and resources as the series continues virtually throughout National Coaches Week coming this September. The virtual event, starting at $0, ensures accessibility for coaches from all corners of Ontario.
