1 in 7 adults in Ontario are currently coaching, and 76% are volunteers, receiving no renumeration whatsoever – 2024 Ontario Coaching Report
TORONTO – April 28, 2025 – As part of Volunteer Canada’s National Volunteer Week (April 27-May 3, 2025) the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) is proud to launch the Get Coaching Starter Pack, a premium resource package for coaches on the bench for 2 years or less, and offer free and discounted NCCP for the duration of the week.
National Volunteer Week (NVW) is an opportunity to spread the word that coaching provides people with an amazing way to develop confidence and give back their communities through the power of sport. NVW is a chance to share access to training, resources and support tailored specifically to the needs of new volunteer coaches.
“We are honoured to acknowledge and support all of the volunteer sport coaches across the province. Coaches in Ontario spend over 600 million hours coaching each year, the majority of which are unpaid. We are grateful for their leadership, dedication and commitment to making their communities stronger through the power of sport.” said Jeremy Cross, CAO’s Executive Director.
