Sault Ste. Marie, ON – November 4, 2024 – From court to field to rink, local sport organizations and coaches across the region will have the opportunity to take part in a coaching Super Clinic event coming February 21-23, 2025. Tourism Sault Ste. Marie and the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) are partnering to bring this event to Sault College and various other local venues offering a range of nationally recognized sport and coaching courses at discounted rates.
“We understand the need for accessible and affordable training opportunities in the North,” said Jeremy Cross, Executive Director of CAO. “By hosting the Super Clinic, we aim to reduce travel while also attracting emerging coaches to organizations. We are excited to return to the Sault offering residents the opportunity to learn and enhance their coaching skills, contributing to the growth of positive sport experiences for all.”
The Super Clinic is designed to enhance the skill sets of coaches and sport leaders across all levels, from grassroots to high performance. Participants will have the opportunity to obtain certifications in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), gaining invaluable training in sports such as athletics, baseball, hockey, soccer, curling, and volleyball.“We are proud to partner with the Coaches Association of Ontario to offer this coaching clinic locally, giving our coaches access to certification and development without the long travel that’s often required,” said Alana Kenopic, Manager of Tourism – Tourism Sault Ste. Marie. “Strengthening our local sports organizations is key to building a vibrant community, and this initiative will help attract and retain talented coaches for a variety of sports. This effort will not only grow the capacity of our current sports organizations but enhance our sports tourism profile.”Attendees will gain sport-specific technical skills as well as critical leadership and decision-making abilities that can open doors to new opportunities both in coaching and beyond.
