NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program

Course Description:

This is a Competition Introduction multi-sport course.

By completing the NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program you will be able to:

• Create a sound outline for your sport program that includes competition and training events;
• Compare your program to those outlined by the NCCP in terms of long-term athlete development;
• Assess the athletic development opportunities your program offers, and identify ways to remedy any weaknesses;
• Interpret the information in a sample program, identifying training priorities and objectives at certain periods;
• Establish a link between your program’s training objectives and the content of practice sessions.

Important Registration Information:

• Coaches must be 14 or older to access NCCP multi-sport training in Ontario
• This workshop will utilize eMaterials.  You will be required to download the materials in advance and bring a suitable electronic device to use during the workshop.  The materials will be provided to you in advance.

Important Venue Information:

• Location: The Milton Historical Society is located at 16 James Street, Milton, Ontario, just off Main Street and beside (north of) St. Paul’s United Church. Entrance to the Carriage Room is on the north side of the building about three quarters of the length to the back of the building.
• Parking: Please park in one of the municipal parking lots that are conveniently located off Main Street and Brown Street, or on Main Street just east and behind St. Paul’s United Church. Please respect our neighbours and do not park in St. Paul’s United Church parking lot.
