NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program

Online Course Information:

This is a live, NCCP Learning Facilitator led interactive group-based course offered online. You will be required to communicate and complete group work with other coaches. You must have your own computer with a headset containing a built-in microphone.

Coaches who login when the course content has started will not be allowed to participate and will be ejected from the course.

Course Description:

This is a Competition Introduction multi-sport course.

By completing the NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program you will be able to:

• Create a sound outline for your sport program that includes competition and training events;
• Compare your program to those outlined by the NCCP in terms of long-term athlete development;
• Assess the athletic development opportunities your program offers, and identify ways to remedy any weaknesses;
• Interpret the information in a sample program, identifying training priorities and objectives at certain periods;
• Establish a link between your program’s training objectives and the content of practice sessions.

• Transfers or cancellations with fewer than five (5) days’ notice are subject to a $25 charge. Please see our Cancellation and Refund Policy for more information.
• Participants must be in a proper learning environment with access to the platform and course materials simultaneously. Please do not attend while you are driving or the facilitator will ask you to leave and you will not receive a refund.
• These courses are open to ONTARIO RESIDENTS aged 14 years and older. If you are currently residing in another Province or Territory please contact your local NCCP Provincial/Territorial Coaching Representatives (PTCRs) to get approval before registering. You may NOT attend while driving.

This course has a mandatory pre-task.  To attend the online workshop, you MUST complete and submit the pre-task to your Learning Facilitator BEFORE the start of the workshop. Failure to complete and submit the pre-task prior to the workshop will result in not being admitted into the session.
