National Coaches Week in Ontario is here! This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.

CAO and Hydro One are excited to present this discounted NCCP course through our new Safe Sport 101 partnership. This new partnership with Hydro One will bring a series of timely and low-cost workshops. Both the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions & Empower+ workshops will be available for coaches from September 20-27.

About our partnership with Hydro One

Hydro One is committed to building safe communities. Through our partnership, we are launching Safe Sport 101, a new virtual hub where coaches can gain access to the safety tools and resources they need year-round. Together we are helping to build a culture of safety both physically and emotionally for coaches and athletes across Ontario.

Online Course Information:

This is a live, NCCP Learning Facilitator led interactive group-based course offered online. You will be required to communicate and complete group work with other coaches. You must have your own computer with a headset containing a built-in microphone. Tablets and cellphones will NOT work.

Coaches that login when the course content has started will not be allowed to participate and will be ejected from the course.

Course Description:

NCCP Empower+ (EMP+) is a thought-provoking workshop that will teach you how to enhance the safety and well-being of your athletes and be a positive role model in the world of sport.

After completing the NCCP Empower+ module, you will be able to:

  • Critically reflect on your own experiences in sport;
  • Recognize the potential for, and presence of maltreatment in sport;
  • Determine when and how to intervene when you observe or suspect maltreatment;
  • Apply the six-step NCCP Decision-making Model to make ethical decisions related to maltreatment in sport;
  • Identify the conditions related to creating positive and healthy sport experiences that enhance the well-being of athletes in your care.

Important Registration Information:

  • These courses are open to ONTARIO RESIDENTS aged 16 years and older. If you are currently residing in another Province or Territory please contact your local NCCP Provincial/Territorial Coaching Representatives (PTCRs) to get approval before registering.   • This course may be postponed if registration minimums are not reached.
  • This program will utilize eMaterials. All NCCP materials are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced or redistributed without consent.
