NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills

This course is being offered for FREE to new coaches as part of National Volunteer Week in Ontario. Trained volunteer coaches are crucial to creating positive sport in Ontario, and we are pleased to support you through your pathway with education, funding and other programs. Online Course Information:

This is a live, NCCP Learning Facilitator led, interactive group based course offered online. You will be required to communicate and complete group work with other coaches. You must have your own computer with a headset containing a built-in microphone. Tablets and cellphones will NOT work. Coaches that login when the course content has started will not be allowed to participate and will be ejected from the course. Course Description:

The learning activities in the NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) workshop will prepare you to:

• Detect and correct basic errors for fundamental movement skills in participants so they have a choice to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle;
• Apply a teaching process to fundamental movement skills;
• Adapt fundamental movement skills for participants with intellectual, physical, sensory or behavioural disabilities;
• Lead activities that will promote the development of fundamental movement skills in a safe, responsible manner while interacting with others; and
• Provide stage-appropriate feedback to encourage and develop fundamental movement skills in participants.

Important Registration Information:

• There will be no transfers to other workshops if coaches cannot attend this free workshop.
• Participants must be in a proper learning environment with access to the platform and course materials simultaneously. Please do not attend while you are driving or the facilitator will ask you to leave and you will not receive a refund.
• These courses are open to ONTARIO RESIDENTS ONLY aged 14 years and older.
• This course may be postponed if registration minimums are not reached.
• This program will utilize eMaterials. All NCCP materials are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced or redistributed without consent.
