The “Coaches Association of Ontario” (CAO) refers to the office through which coach training and education is delivered in Ontario and credited in the NCCP locker database. The “Locker” means the National Coaching Certification Program central database used to store and track coach education and training.
2. Time
These Terms and Conditions shall be in effect for the duration of the submitted and accepted PD opportunity timeline.
3. Application Criteria
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Upon submission by a Host, CAO will conduct a review focusing on the following criteria: 1) No sport specific events are accepted by the CAO. Example: An event or training that is only applicable and/or open to coaches of that one sport. 2) If the Host operates and offers events/training’s to residents beyond Ontario, including e-learning access, CAO must receive consent for approval from the Coaching Association of Canada “CAC.” Should consent not be received, the application will be denied. 3) Does the organization and content align with the values of Canadian sport and the NCCP Code of Ethics; 4) The content must not be in direct competition with any NCCP multi-sport module or NCCP sport-specific modules, but may compliment them; 5) Partnering must be in the best interest of promoting lifelong learning, promoting ease of access to learning opportunities, and ease of tracking in The Locker for Ontario coaches; 6) Partnering must adhere to the NCCP Professional Development Policy for distribution of point values to NCCP coaches; 7) Partnering must be respectful of the NCCP and CAO brand, and of the Partnership as a whole. CAO reserves the right to engage appropriate outside expertise to vet and verify that the content is current, valid and research based. CAO reserves the right to deny any Host based on one or more of the above criteria.
4. Indemnity and Liability
The Host agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Coaches Association of Ontario, its officers, directors, employees and agents, from any and all costs, claims, expenses, demands, actions, causes of action, and for any liability for damages to property and injury to persons (including death) howsoever caused arising out of or in any way related to the Host’s program.
5. Cost and Payment
The Host agrees to pay CAO according to the fee structure or unless otherwise stated in express written consent from CAO. Payment from Host must be received prior to CAO submitting the Host’s program in the Locker. CAO will then have five (5) business days upon payment receipt to input credit in the Locker. There are no refunds.
6. Professional Development Points
Professional Development (PD) points are required for coaches to maintain their active Certified status in the NCCP. CAO can only award up to a maximum of 50% of required PD point credits for a given context in a certification renewal period at a rate of one (1) point per hour of activity up to a maximum of three (3).
7. Termination of Service
The Host may terminate this agreement at any time. In such event, the Host is not entitled to any refund of any fees that have been paid prior to terminating the service.
