The Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) and FlipGive, North America’s leading sport fundraising solution, announced today a new partnership to bring virtual fundraising solutions to Ontario’s 250,000 coaches.
90% of Canadians believe organized sports will be important in helping society rebuild and recover from the pandemic. As sports continue to feel the economic impacts of COVID-19 it is more important than ever to find innovative ways to support coaches and their teams with the cost of returning to play. Last year over $2.4 million were raised by Ontario based teams on FlipGive. With this new partnership, the CAO and FlipGive will provide Ontario’s coaches with a modern fundraising solution that makes it fun and easy to fundraise year-round by earning cash back on everyday shopping.
“We know that sport has been hit hard in 2020. We believe FlipGive is able to help coaches and the sport community with innovative solutions for getting participants, families and clubs back to sport,” says Jeremy Cross, Executive Director with the CAO. “We are excited to be partnering with FlipGive and believe they will play an integral role in helping coaches and sport organizations reduce costs and make fundraising easier than ever.”
With 78% of Ontario 5-19 year olds participating in organized sport before the pandemic, it is part of the CAO’s ongoing mission to provide industry-leading tools and best practices that support Ontario’s coaching community. FlipGive provides teams the ability to earn cash back for all purchases made from the over 700 retail partners available. Groceries, gas, coffee runs, sports equipment, restaurant takeout, travel, uniforms and apparel and many other shopping categories are all opportunities to earn. Making fundraising fun for parents and supporters – buy what they need to fund what they love!
“As a coach myself in Ontario, I’ve heard from parents that the cost of sport is a major challenge this year, and with traditional fundraising ideas cancelled along with community sponsorship opportunities paused, we want to help coaches across the province get setup to virtually fundraise in minutes on FlipGive and get families back to sports”, Sam Menard, FlipGive VP of Growth and Girls Hockey Coach
